Saw one briefly perched on an ocotillo and singing. Beautiful, high contrast face with bright white eyebrows, malar, and central throat stripe against a black throat and slate gray upper parts. His face was shining up at me from below. Quickly flew and I didn’t get eyes on it again, but he sang off and on for 30 mins. A second bird briefly sang up slope. Recording obtained of the individual in the canyon. Would like to know what else is vocalizing in the recording.
