观察细节
Found in trees where the Baseball Stadium, back parking lot, Irvine Child Development Center and SW Baseball field come together at a corner. Obvious yellow flanks starting at “shoulder” unlike the gray upper flanks of Plumbeous I saw yesterday. Rich yellow continued down flanks. Also yellow flanks continue at under-tail coverts. Gradual, not severe cut off of gray, at head to white throat: not a Blue-headed. No distinct, bold white colors edges of tail like Plumbeous. Secondary stack edged olive, not gray like Plumbeous. Gray head graduates to olive-gray back not the gray back like the Plumbeous. Overall, appears more delicate in size of bill, and overall body shape. Photos. Singing and scolding. I recorded the Plumbeous yesterday and the Cassin’s today. The Plumbeous the recording is lower in frequency (pitch), with shorter and more deliberate phrases, with longer pauses in-between. Todays recording of the Cassin’s is noticeably higher in frequency, with longer and faster squeakier phrases with shorter pauses in between. Lighter, fizzier. This is sooooo cool!
