****Potential MEGA. Seems to best fit either female Snowy-Bellied complex, or perhaps some populations of Gray-breasted Martin, and perhaps most likely the latter, based in large part on size and proportions. 4/03 note: Initial unaltered comments, some less true now, a couple of days later: I’m not sure if a really pale Purple Martin can be ruled out, though I am not familiar with this particular range of variation in Purple Martin. The fact that it had a consistently relatively small (compared to PUMA) appearance could perhaps point more strongly towards Gray-breasted, some populations of which have smaller wing cord measurements than Purple and Caribbean. Continuing from this morning (as early as 08:30). Still present up to ~19:35, when it was getting too dark to adequately keep track of it. Photos and video. More details on earlier checklist, and more details to come here. Photos to suffice for now. Morning list: https://ebird.org/atlasny/checklist/S84571274 Changing observation now (on 04/03) from "Progne sp." to Gray-breasted, as that’s what I now believe it most likely is, and it is easier for people to track through alerts when entered as a full species. That said, I acknowledge the high level of uncertainty inherent in tropical Progne identification.
