Continuing bird found by Christina Rockwell on Tuesday 12/22 and Josh Ketry on Christmas 12/25 yesterday. Usual roosting area was flooded so it was nice and close to the shore viewed (very appropriately) from Chris Kundl’s memorial bench. About the same size as HERG but somewhat stockier. Noticeably larger than nearby LBBG. About the same shade of black as LBBG, but with pink legs. Yellow bill with red spot at top of lower mandible. Noticeable dark streaking concentrated around eye and also flecked throughout head and neck. Open wing shots show the “string of pearls” and wide white tips to secondaries
