As soon as I stepped out of the car I could hear at least three birds calling on the southern side of the road. I then walked 50m or so back down the road and could hear another two calling to each other from the paddock on the opposite (northern) side of the road. Obvious irruption of this species into the east of their range at the moment. Stubble Quails also calling. Audio recording to add.
