Mega: Tentatively reporting, because I do believe it is one, but distance made observation a bit tedious. I first noted an Aythya duck species as I was counting eider, and decided I would come back to it. I did, and noted a light grayish flank as it faced away. It then started moving more, to where I had side-on views. This showed a much whiter flank, dark back, and dark head. I could even see a bright yellow eye, but only through my scope. As I was taking video of it for evidence/to help confirm, it flapped, showing extensive bright white on the secondaries into the primaries. The bill had no discernible markings like a RNDU, and the wings were too bright for one as well. A slight point towards the rear of the head is even seen in some images. After observing for a while, I switched views to count Crows, and when I finished and went to check on this duck, I could no longer find it. It was near the massive COEI flock distantly off the point, but associated more with a few scoters. A good scope would be absolutely necessary for this bird in my opinion if it is still around.
