Note a great photo, but shows the rufous back and the dark face without an eye ring. The vividly streaked throat is hidden in this photo.
观察细节
While walking back along the road, by the three-pipe culvert at the Lower Picnic Area (just downhill from the Camp Gila sign) and I heard high thin hseeeh call and saw a shadow. I turned and saw it fly from the roadside junipers on the south slope into a sycamore tree over my head just downhill of the last remaining water area. I had great views of it in the open, hit by the sun. Viewed dorsally I could see the rufous back, and when it turned its streaked throat, and showing no eye ring on a dark face. I managed to get my camera out of my pack and grab one set of photos that show these field marks. At that point it relocated somewhere within that same cluster of sycamores over the water, but I had to leave for an appt so didn't have time to relocate. Note that in addition to the little shady watering hole, there are pyracantha bushes with berries in broader area, such as just downhill by Reservoir Hill and just uphill in the shrubby area behind the playground spinner. Photo attached.
