Adult on a nest, well built nest, better than the one we saw earlier this morning. Calling naturally, throat vibrates, then sticks her head up and calls, on a point near water but well above it on a lava field. There was a baby underneath her, in the open 4 feet away from me. The pair build together a depression that she sits in the middle of with 6"-7" high border around her made of twigs, green algae and whatever branches they can find. One adult had been out feeding, came back with seaweed, they switched places and the one that had been on the nest went out to feed.
