I first heard a long-call, possibly by a different bird, at 5:39:16, after which a bird began with a song at 5:40:04 and then another long-call at 5:40:58, both about 100-150 meters in on the north side of the road. The bird then began singing at 5:41:19 from the same tree where it began singing both the first afternoon and the second morning that I recorded it. I then began recording at 5:41:47 after missing two songs, with the bird about 30 meters away and 15 meters up in relatively small tree on the south side of the road in rather scrubby forest with scattered taller trees along the old logging road 3.5 kilometers beyond the bridge over the Río Grande. [8° 06’ 43.0” N, 61° 39‘ 50.0” W, 283 meters]. Soon after I got onto it the bird moved about 50 meters to the west, after which I was able to approach to a distance of about 30 meters (though the angle was better). It shifted again after only a few songs, again moving about 30 meters to the west into a tall tree almost directly above the road at a distance of 25 meters. The bird moved again at 5:54:47, just prior to the end of the first part of this recording, this time going both further to the west and a bit further in from the road to a place I was unable to reach. It also went quiet almost immediately. a distant long-call by a second bird was heard in the background. It was essentially clear with just a few high thin clouds overhead, calm, 75° F, and with a nearly full moon 30° up in the western sky at dawn. After a gap of about ten minutes with no song, this bird returned to trees along the road, where it gave a long-call and three songs at 6:02:57. It moved again even before I was able to get onto it, going back to the large tree along the road where I had recorded it earlier and beginning again at 6:04:32, after which I missed three or four more songs before turning recorder back on at 6:05:10. Unfortunately, the bird sang here only once before moving yet again, this time about 30 meters farther west, after which I missed two more songs before getting back onto the bird at 6:06:07 for only a single song before it moved again, this time well back from the road. I got back onto the bird again at 6:08:55, with it now about 100 meters in on the north side of the road, where it began singing at about 6:07:17, but I recorded only six songs before moving yet again.
