Lateral view of perched bird. Same individual as ML20206031.
观察细节
See photos. Lighter olive brown above than Willow/Alder, with dull eyering, large bill, and very bright wingbars. Long primary projection (longer than Willow/Alder is clinching characteristic for Acadian Flycatcher. It was near another Empidonax sp that was noticeably grayer and darker on the upperparts, with no noticeable eyering and dull wingbars, which I reported as an Alder/Willow Flycatcher in this eBird list. Neither bird vocalized. The individual in these photos was clearly more olive on upperparts, and had much brighter wingbars. It was at the edge of tall willow trees in a riparian strip, perched near the ground at the edge of an empty aquaculture pond. This is the first documented record of the species for Zamorano campus.
