A pair of Ring-necked or Cape Turtle Doves by a roadside puddle. Ring-necked or Cape Turtle Doves (Streptopelia capicola) are the most common and widespread dove in southern Africa, occurring in a wide range of habitats. They mainly eat seeds, although the female in this clip was feeding on the leaves of a small plant. They also eat termites during mass emergences as well as other insects and invertebrates, bulbs and berries. Elevation: 1305 m. Date added to IBC: April 2, 2019.
