A Plumbeous Rail hunting and bathing in a shallow pond. The southern race of the Plumbeous Rail (Pardirallus sanguinolentus luridus) is the largest of the six subspecies recognised, and is found in southern Chile and Argentina to Tierra del Fuego. Plumbeous Rails are found in wet habitats – this bird was hunting and bathing in a shallow pond near the Administration Centre in Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Elevation: 1264 m. Date added to IBC: March 15, 2019.
