***Very Rare from land. 2nd from-land record for the Pribilofs in recent times (they likely used to be much more common from land when the worldwide population was higher, a century ago). The other record was from October 2007. Low worldwide population, though a large portion of it spends time in the Bering Sea. SW Point, seen twice over ~50 minutes (First spotted by Scott off the point, not too far off, before getting a bunch closer towards the point), with ~40 minutes between sightings, due in large part to a rain squall eliminating visibility after the first time we saw it. Moving very slowly in a mostly westerly direction, but drifting north a bit as well. Often seeming to stay over the same spot in the water. Large Albatross, all-dark except for the pale belly, and bright pink bill, the latter characteristic being visible like a beacon when it got close enough. Pale belly was visible at all distances. Awesome lifer for me and Scott.
