Initially heard these calls when walking by stream, which is how I became aware of its presence.
观察细节
In thick undergrowth of willow and aspen next to a spring-fed stream at about 8,000 ft. elevation. Area is surrounded by mixed coniferous forest. Stumbled upon it while walking next to stream. Was shocked at first to see it considering it isn’t supposed to be on this side of the sierra. Though I had seen a report of one at Lundy Lake about 12 miles north. Bird was extremely curious and got really close. Tail short, body a warm brown with a slightly goldish hue on breast when the bird was hit by sunlight unlike the drabber gray of a House or Bewick's Wren. A little speckling near the rump, and a “white eyebrow” that didn't go past the front of the eye like a Bewick's Wren. Compared calls with other recordings. Had seen my first Pacific Wren days earlier in Mariposa Grove in Yosemite. Photo is washed out and not as vibrant as hoped for. Wasn't carrying my Nikon SLR and had to resort to my iPhone.
