NOTES: Notes: "song, presumably of a male. a two part cut, seperated by a voice announcement. the first part recorded at 653, the second at 716. a known stakeout that represented one of a few Buff-breasted Flycatchers in New Mexico this century; bird was observed foraging from tops of larger trees (mostly Chihuahuan Pines) in dry streambed near third creek crossing (ca. 1.9 mi above national forest boundary); bird usually stayed near tops of trees and often perched in the open, though it did not stay long in any one place. Recorded with HHb PDR-1000, Sennheiser MKH-20 microphone inside a 30" Roche fiberglass parabole, HHb filters in cut position and attenuators off unless noted otherwise HPF@180" -SBA 01/11/2002 [There are 57 song-like phrases here as follows: 41 examples of the simple "chee-lick" song described in BNA, seven examples of a "chee chou" series, two examples of a "cho" note alone, and seven examples of a more complex, "chee-lick chou" phrase with a trilled ending. Although apparently not given in an alarm context, the trilled series at 1:51 appears to represent the "quit-quit-quir-r-r" cited as an alarm note in BNA. Quality unchanged (1-2) - CAM - 7 September 2005].
