Known location, trumpety gnatcatcher calls in the bosque. Several pics. 1102 NF B90-100. Followed pair for over an hour, they eventually split, followed female, she foraged on her own for 15 minutes then flew to this nest, then long flight to male who had just called to her, then lost them both. Definitely a BCGN nest, only question is it 2018 or is it old and he was calling to her from the nest, or some other similar solution in which 2018 nest is somewhere else. Nest too high to check. I tend to think the nest is new, it is near the top of the canopy and pretty exposed, and you can make out pieces of lichen that line the cup and what look like spider webs anchoring it to the substrate. I doubt a 2017 gnatcatcher nest would make it through the winter months in this location in that shape. 7.3 m in 8.4 m P. velutina. Alan said Fray may have saw them w material last week, which would put this possibly at B100 or laying, which fits the behavior observed. The more photos and angles I get on the nest the more I think it is new. Further confirmation it is active just saw Alan and he had the pair in the area yesterday with material.
