target bird sings at 1, 8, and 17 seconds
Деталі спостереження
Putative ID. Medium-sized mostly green hummingbird with dark blue tail. Mostly seen from over bird's right shoulder, so hard to see throat and underparts to distinguish extent of shining blues and greens. Male perched on exposed branch in understory of transition between mangrove and dry forest. Lower mandible reddish and appeared to have greenish central tail feathers. Recording of song (a high thin descending twitter lasting ~1 second) best matches L. coeruleogularis: http://www.xeno-canto.org/86180. Compared against more steady twitter of L. lilliae: http://www.xeno-canto.org/species/Lepidopyga-lilliae. (Noted that L. lilliae has been considered by some older authorities to be a plumage form, morph or subspecies of L. coeruleogularis, which doesn't seem to be supported by the small series of xeno-canto recordings). L. goudoti seems to give more of a repetitive series of emphatic rolling twitters; e.g.: http://www.xeno-canto.org/species/Lepidopyga-goudoti.
