Brown Creeper found by Richard Aracil and photographed here by Curtis A. Marantz on 28 October 2017 at Lake Tamarisk, Desert Center, Riverside County, California.
Деталі спостереження
Rich spotted this bird in pines bordering the golf course just south of Lake Tamarisk Drive, but it soon flew across the fairway to trees near the western entrance to the property. Although it was typically silent as it crept along the trunks, this bird did give a high-pitched, "peee" call a few times. This was a notably small, slim bird with a slim bill that was slightly decurved, and a long, slim tail that it used as a prop as it typically crept upward along the trunks. The head, neck, upperparts, and wings were a medium-brown color with darker streaking throughout, but the underparts were uniformly white at least from the throat down through the breast, belly, sides, and flanks. The tail was dark brown and I thought I noted at least some suggestion of a darker mask. If my memory is correct, this was only the second creeper that I have seen at Desert Center.
