Деталі спостереження
See photos. Unmistakable white owl with black barring and yellow eyes. Immature; consensus was probable first year female. Continuing bird first reported on Facebook several days ago. Our neighbor texted us that we had an owl in our tree and I (Mary) was out there by 2:00 PM. According to them, it had been there all day, occasionally harassed by ravens and magpies, but we had not heard the usual chickadee alarms that have accompanied past owl visits. While we watched, magpies continued to harass the owl, one biting and pulling at its tail feathers, as ravens occasionally swooped by. Around 2:30 - 3:00 PM the chickadee alarms began and soon there were four Steller's jays squawking loudly and harassing the owl. Magpies and ravens continued as did the voices of chickadees, joined by a red squirrel. A little after 4:00 PM the owl departed northbound. I saw it fly east and circle around about a block or two away, but lost sight of it. Others followed and re-spotted.
