yesss. jealous of all the recent reports of YB from around the city, I went out in the rain to try again for one. striking out on the ballfields, I went to hang out by the dog run benches and heard an odd whistled call. merlin pinged it immediately as yb. it was sounding low in the trees and not moving, but after a bit of searching I found it preening and drying itself on a branch. large eye ring with the back more prominent than front. yellowish wash underneath. oddly more vested appearance than I remember from my lifer upstate. photos and audio
