Walked over to the docks at The Cove to check the marshy area and saw a shorebird fly up, noticed the white stripe of a dowitcher going up the back. We studied it for a while after relocating, very challenging viewing conditions from the floating dock that was very wobbly in the wind. The bird had a noticeably pale/white underside, especially towards the rear under the tail. The face and breast were orange, with hard to see markings along the side of the neck, which appeared more like spots as opposed to bars. Eventually a boat flushed it and it thankfully let out a ‘tu-tu-tu’ call. Poor digiscope photos obtained.
