Flew in at 0855 after the flock got stirred up by a passing immature Bald Eagle. Loafing on ice. Approximately the size of adjacent Ring-billed with a much darker mantle (approaching Lesser Black-backed slate color). Head washed in straw colored streaking. Bill proportionately a little shorter and more pointed than Ring-billed, mustard colored with dusky smudge about 2/3 of the way out on the lower mandible. Dark iris. Didn't get a diagnostic look at the primaries in flight. Long-occuring individual at this site for several winters now.
