Деталі спостереження
**Very rare. A male Curlew Sandpiper spotted by Sally Bergquist and seen incredibly well by our group just past the junkyard on Nunavaaq Street, at 71.2709291, -156.8208818. Photos revealed this is another individual from the two that have been on Gas Well Road, a third record in Utqiaġvik seen on the same day. Could possibly be the same individual found in this general area on June 2nd, will need to compare photos. A gorgeous transitioning male, possibly a 2nd year bird as it was still molting scapulars and its belly was more mottled white and deep red. A medium-sized shorebird with a deep red head and breast, red/gold/black/white scapular feathers, a medium-length thinly decurved bill, thin but bold white eye-ring, and all black legs. During short flights, its bold white rump was evident as well. Foraged immediately next to the road for some time, and was there both around 5:15 PM when we found it, as well as around 6:30 PM when we returned. Many photos taken.
