LIFER!!! very very lucky sighting. at one point still at original stationary spot watching the cuckoos, there were many barn swallows flying around, and among them there was this small swift like bird. I initially thought it was a swallow, but its shape was much different, but it seemed so small. I looked through bins and it definitely looked like swift shape, and when it turned around at one point I saw it had a pale gray inconspicuous rump!!! it was to my southwest. I got camera immediately, fortunately they stayed in that area continuing flying, they all flew very low not very high sometimes the mountain is in the background, had to wait until they flew so that the sky was in the background for camera to focus for some photos, easily confirmed - small, swiftlet shape,martin-like shallowly forked tail, pale gray rump. at one point one came pretty close to my northwest and suddenly called - high pitched, quick chittering notes!! sounded like the recording in merlin. only called and came so close that one time though, did not get audio. at least 2 flying around maybe more but less than 5 definitely
