Деталі спостереження
At the end of my yard survey, I wasn't really paying attention as I walked toward my house when I saw out of the corner of my eye an angular-looking bird land in the tallest tree in my front yard, followed by a crow. I couldn't see the birds in the foliage, but then the crow flew off. I figured the first bird was probably just a crow too, but then another crow flew into the tree, forcing the 1st bird to take flight. I instantly saw that it was an adult MIKI and started taking photos. The crows continued to harass the kite until it flew out of sight. I put out a notice via the two Howard alerts. About 20 minutes went by and the kite appeared again, flying west and low over my house, affording several close range photos, attached. Later, Joe Hanfman, David Sandler, and Allen Lewis saw the bird carrying a large stick in its talons as it flew over the house heading NE. The bird disappeared behind a tall poplar tree and was not seen again by that group.
