Merlin called our attention to this oriole - a rare species in this area. I sought it out and saw it well while it was singing in an apple tree. Eventually the bird flew past us. The field marks, size and coloration were right for Orchard Oriole. It was black and chestnut, not orange, and lacked noticeable white in the wings. The bird was observed while singing for several minutes. There were numerous recordings but many suffered from wind and road noise. These are the best.
