Деталі спостереження
Hooray, after reviewing a video I think I got one after all, in the heavily burnt stand W of the road. That was my guess in person, but then I started to doubt it when I noticed that wind-ruffled breast feathers on a hairy could make them seem mottled, too. But this one really does seem to have barred flanks. And now I’m noticing that the head stripe pattern also differs between the species, with the upper white stripe looping around the back of the head and connecting in ATTW (hairy seem to have a solid dark stripe down the back of the head that bisects the supercilium) and the lower white stripe curving downward or narrowing instead of an upward flare out. I also see a hint of yellow on the top of the head. More bad photos here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/217361777
