Ohio lifer and 4th (?) state record overall. Chia and I were standing in parking lot 1 getting ready to leave when we both looked up and naked eye spotted a longer-tailed bird flying due east above the treetops. We both instantly identified it as a Black-billed Magpie due to the longer tail and wings with white wing patches. It was in open sky when we first observed it. It then drifted behind the trees along the coast guard road. I fired off a couple shots and then sprinted in that direction hoping to get another look at it. I could not re-spot it but a few minutes later we called Jerry Talkington who we knew was at Fairport Nursery Rd. Right after the call, he was able to get a much better look at this bird as it flew by and continued east. Jerry obtained better photos than I did. Amazingly, two hours after this sighting, Jerry observed the same or a different bird at Fairport Nursery Rd again, also heading east.
