Деталі спостереження
Seen in pine tree hawking. In green area along College avenue between the two paths. No camera and when we returned with it the bird had just left. Reid's description. An upright gray bird with a significant crest, significantly larger than the nearby Yellow-rumped Warblers. It came repeatedly to bare branch ends on a pine tree, about 15 feet above the ground. It had a thin eye ring and an obvious orange lower mandible with a dark upper mandible. It has an obvious yellow wash on the underside. It would sit for extended periods on a perch, flying off short distances and returning to the same or a nearby perch – typical flycatcher behavior. It called a few times, and I recorded it – identified at least four times by Merlin.
