Two male Olive Warblers seem to be engaged in a duel, chasing each other around—at one point almost to the ground—and giving these calls and short songs. This was in pine-oak along the flat edge of the mesa en route to the communications tower. Background includes: Buff-breasted Flycatcher calls, American Robin, Grace’s Warbler, & Hepatic Tanager calls. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.

Strong song by one or two at dawn, regular singing by several more during the early morning hours; many seen and heard, singing or calling; one three-way chase (2 adult males, 1 female) with many calls (recorded); as conspicuous as REW has ever encountered; easy to see; several singing from oaks and feeding in oaks, as much as in pines; REW's recordings are on xeno-canto.org;
