NOTES: "In same general sequence as cut 2, but contains in background [American] Golden Plover whistle and Oldsquaw, also snow geese from .45; good wing sounds in take-off at .20; Recorded by Darryl Dahmer" (WWHG) "Give credit to National Museum of Canada" [This recording begins with a good series of the clucking, "Gogogog..." Calls given by the female (see p. 609 of Cramp et al. 1977. The birds of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Birds of the Western Palearctic. Vol. 1. Oxford University Press, Oxford; this call not really described in BNA account), in addition to one "cooing" call by a male. It is unclear whether the birds heard flying off were the eiders because there was additional series of calls at 0:47-0:48. I do not believe that anything heard after 0:48 was given by this species. Quality changed from 2 to 2-1 (but with some electronic "clicking" in later part of the recording) - CAM - 18 March 2005].
