Деталі спостереження
A single, much smaller crane than the Greater Sandhills it was with, approximately 1/2 the bulk of the others. At all times it showed darker remiges, a much smaller bill (perhaps 1/2 the length of the birds it was with, and much skinnier), and much shorter legs (approx, 1/2 the length of all surrounding birds, with a much shorter (and proportionately shorter) leg projection beyond the tail. Its neck was noticeably shorter than those of the others. And a less extensive white cheek patch would presume a runt Greater would not show the darker remiges, smalwr cheek patch, and differing proportions, but am happy to be corrected if this is wrong. Photographed at multiple angles, this combination of traits was consistent throughout the observation. Full details to be submitted to MBRC.
