Full body photo of number 2.
Деталі спостереження
The Snowy observed yesterday from some distance was relocated by the mouth of Molasses Cr. (it is herein referred to as number 2). It is has dull very light yellowish lores and differs in other ways from the Snowy that has been here much longer. The earlier one happened to join the new one by chance while I was taking photos from Church Rd. at the Molasses Cr. inlet. The new Snowy (#2) is a slow & methodical hunter given to periods of just standing still and then pull in as though sulking. I lack experience to determine if number 2 could be an egret species other than a Snowy so it is regarded here as a Snowy for the purposes of this checklist. Perhaps this individual is a hybrid like has been reported with Snowy and Little Egrets. Checklist S30987720 reported egret number 2 late yesterday. Note: The bill & legs of the egrets in the photos below appear darker than they did yesterday due to back lighting from the sun this morning. All of the photos are neat.
