soft calls / subsong, between flock members after finishing feeding on raw mince meat provided by a human
Деталі спостереження
A flock of Pied Currawongs were hanging around the back of a house that backs onto the the reserve seemingly in anticipation of something; after some time the resident of the house threw some mince meat up onto the top of a brick wall upon which the Pied Currawongs fed. Also in attendance were a single Grey Butcherbird and a sole Noisy Miner. There was a pecking order among Pied Currawongs as only a few of the flock - 3 or perhaps 4 - actually fed on the mince meat; but also, there appeared to be an interspecific pecking order, for only after the currawongs had finished feeding did the Grey Butcherbird feed on the meat, and only after the Grey Butcherbird had finished feeding did the Noisy Miner feed on the meat. After the meat had all been finished, the Pied Currawongs remained in nearby trees and some individuals vocalised softly (as in recordings)
