ML: Unbroken cut with internal recordist announcement gain change. BNA: This recording contains calls by a variety of species, but relatively little appears to highlight Fulica. I suspect that the four cries at the beginning (0:05-0:12) are those of Gallinula chloropus, but these are followed by a series that may represent the Recognition Notes of Fulica described in BNA account (0:15-0:19), if not the "tack-tack, tack-tack..." given by an unreceptive female [??] The harsher series at 0:20-0:23 was given by Fulica, and it probably represents the Alarm Call (see also ML 2804); this series is followed by a similar one by a second bird (0:23-0:27). The rest of the recording has Fulica only in the background, giving what are probably Warning Calls (0:48, 0:54, 0:56, 0:59, 1:02, 1:33, 1:47; these much like the calls in ML 43001). The "tack, tack, tack" series at 1:51-1:56 is similar to that noted above at 0:15. I suspect the more horn-like toots (e.g., 0:46, 1:04-1:47, and 1:59) are those of Gallinula, and most of the "check" notes heard here are the calls of Geothlypis trichas (0:29-2:01).
