Still about a dozen very small chicks in main colony and defensive adults. Many birds visiting puddles to bathe. Juveniles were practicing skimming by running around puddle with their mandible in the water - an utterly adorable behavior I had never known about. Counted by tens primarily, definitely not an overestimate. Most I have counted at this site ever, by far, and my last high count of 1025 was the previous state high count in eBird. About 75% in or in front of eastern (main) colony.
