A close view of a perched female, looking around. A day later Peter Waanders of Bellbird Tours found out it was nesting in.....this tree.Endemic to Australia. An iconic species. Seeing this bird was sheer luck, all I knew was that I had a remote chance to see this species at the reserve. Apparently I was the first one to see it in the 2014 breeding season. Before 2011 the only option to try to see this bird was to venture out in remote areas of the interior. Since 2011 the species was found breeding at Gluepot for the first time since the 1970's. No birds were found in the 2013 breeding season. Elevation: 63 m. Date added to IBC: June 23, 2016.
