Деталі спостереження
This bird appeared small, with a shorter tail, and shorter and stouter bill than a Hooded Oriole. Unfortunately the bird was silent, and I was unable to note its size in direct comparison to anything else. I first encountered it flying along the east side of the poop pond, then had it foraging in the cattails and saltbush at the southeast corner of the pond. A short while later, it was in the fruiting date palm south of the pool house. That is was foraging in low, scrubby habitat (saltbush?) is also suggestive of Orchard Oriole, as I have rarely if ever seen Hooded Oriole do so.
