Closest shot that I could get with my camera at max zoom.
Деталі спостереження
The bird was flying very high above Arrowhead Lake about 200 yards East of my location (my house). I noticed that it was at about goose flying height but flapped its wings much more heavily and flew above the lake for about 15 minutes. It caught my attention because I've taken a lot of photos of hawks over the past few years but this was much larger and much higher than anything I've seen before. It looked even larger than the bald eagles that I've seen in the past. I was only able to get two decent shots because of the distance and short viewing time. I had one person that makes bird houses and Allisyn Gillet, a nongame bird biologist with Indiana DNR, look at the photos. Both were 100% sure that it is a Golden Eagle. Allisyn suggested that I post my photos to this website.
