Gözlem detayları
***Very rare. The furthest south record on Florida's Gulf Coast. Flew by headed north without stopping. I found it interesting enough to snap a couple photos but did not look at them carefully later and misidentified the bird. Matt Hafner noticed the photos and asked if I had anymore and whether I had considered Pacific Loon. We contacted Marshall Iliff who said (comments shared with permission): "I'd call PALO. Can't be COLO or YBLO, obviously. Juv RTLO seems tough to eliminate, but head looks more like PALO to me. The key, I'd think, the extent of dark on the flanks. RTLO always has less, and I think this extent is great for PALO. Compare: https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/92597571 and https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/79803831" and also: "You can mention lack of large feet as a key mark eliminating Common." I will be submitting a more detailed report to the FOSRC.
