Saw 1 Himalayan Rubythroat Male Openly perched, clear ruby throat visible Have photos Sighting Summary Spotted it at 8:15 am It was foraging out in the open before we entered the area and quickly went inside the bush in a matter of a few seconds. It perched again out in the open and we had about 10-15 seconds of clear view before it dived back into the bush. Initially we thought it to be Indian Robin or Pied Bushchat before we observed a clear view of its white belly and obvious ruby throat Me and Nirmal Sir, both of were standing quite close wearing a gillie suit We tried a Merlin song playback to which it responded by perching out in the open with for about 10 -15 seconds before it went back in again. It didn't respond with a call, it just showed up. For the second playback trial, of didn't respond or come out. Maybe it was on the other side or it had already moved away from that particular spot within the bushes. As per our observations, It was flocking with mixed species of Warblers, Prinias, Stonechats etc.. It would probably be moving around the area with the same flock.
