*continuing. I got lucky. I checked the location on the northeastern edge of the golf course field where the species has occurred in prior years, and again this year (Miller/Dengler and Gibbons observations) right after the morning rains ended. I caught a glimpse of it in profile right away. A good-sized warbler with all yellow underparts, including bulky undertail coverts. Brownish upperparts. Its head was obscured, I could not see the head. There were many birds nearby: about a dozen Yellow-rumped Warblers flying in and out of the corn, two Eastern Phoebes, and two White-throated Sparrows. I waited, hoping it would reappear. At about 10:30 the Connecticut Warbler started to call. It called repeatedly and loudly. At one point, I felt there were two present and calling, but I am going to stick with one. I got an audio clip. I then got a second brief binocular view of it when it stuck its head out of the thickets for a moment. Dark head with hooded appearance, complete white eyering, heavy bill. It then stopped calling and disappeared for good.
