Nice look at extreme look at very long tail of Roseate
Gözlem detayları
This record was published in NA Birds. Steve McConnell and I found these birds displaying amongst the multitude of other terns on the point. Roseate Tern: (5/26/07): We had three adult Roseate Terns at Cape Point on Cape Hatteras on the morning of the 26th. They were loafing with a large number of other terns (mostly Common and Royal) at the depression just off the Point. The slender black bill, white underparts (one of the birds had a nice rosy flush, and another a slight flush), very long streamers extending well past the tail on two birds, and obvious white edging to inner primaries on the folded wing. The primaries at rest were obviously paler than those of the surrounding Common Terns, as was the whole bird. I am attaching a couple of shots of the birds, including one with all 3 birds in the frame. http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/image/79657874 http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/image/79657869
