Gözlem detayları
*very rare; bright individual in phragmites by parking area initially detected by dry “chep” callnote almost recalling Mourning in tone but softer; Least Flycatcher whit call also similar. Subsequently seen well and photographed though challenging as bird was often embedded within phragmites. Most obvious was the bright yellow throat, more limited and rounder in shape than Myrtle throat patch and not wrapping around towards the cheek. Had this bird on our radar after Andrew Thornton recorded a chip yesterday which may have been this (sub)species further north in Nags Head, and Martina and I recognized the call note immediately. Flew back and forth several times from the wax myrtle clumps in dunes to the phragmites patch, but still present when we departed.
