Well!! Given the fact I was talking with my brother just last night about how the Cuckoos have all well and truly vanished, it was an absolutely fantastic surprise to be sneaking my way through the bushes in hot pursuit of a New Holland when a Cuckoo hurtled up to a clear perch on flickering wings!! I got a couple of silhouette shots before I crept around to the other side of the bird as quietly as possible, hoping and hoping that it wouldn't take fright... which it didn't!! I needn't have worried; we ended up having a perfect photoshoot!!
