I originally posted these as Aleautian Cackling, but in retrospect, I'm not sure; they seemed to have a pale neck band, but appeared larger in flight than they should have. So Cackling/Canana it is. These three birds were perched in the reeds of the SW pond with a green-winged teal and female northern shoveler. They were only slightly larger than the shoveler and had broad white bands at the base of the black neck.
