Male Oriental Pied Hornbill feeding on green fruit. About 8 - 10 males flew into this feeding area with loud KA KA KAs, quickly searched for and took these green fruits and then rapidly flew off. Their feeding behavior seemed like a sporting competition, which one could arrive first, take in enough fruit, and then be first to fly back. This feeding took place around 10:45 a.m. When I returned the next day at the same time no birds returned. Because of the thick foliage, along with this rapid feeding behavior, only a few birds could be photographed. Elevation: 738 m. Date added to IBC: September 10, 2016.
