Gözlem detayları
Heard by CS giving characteristic song (3 notes on roughly the same pitch: short LONG short), then seen by both of us on powerline. When CS first heard the bird sing, he recognized it immediately as a typical Eurasian collared-dove song that we are used to hearing in southeast Arizona. We listened to the song of African collared-dove on the eBird website and noted that our bird’s song did not have a tremolo in the second note, and there were 3 distinct notes rather than two. Dark collar on back of neck, a defined pale band at end of tail (not all pale from vent to tail tip like AFCD), tail not pointed like MODO. This bird was also brownish rather than very pale. We are familiar with EUCD from Arizona, where they are common. Lousy smartphone photo to upload.
