Gözlem detayları
Found earlier today by Howard King where he first observed it from Lakepoint Park on Lakeshore Drive. I met Howard there and through a scope, saw the bird was standing along the shoreline of the levee near the 2 mile marker, just east of the T-peninsula and north west of the green porta potty. With permission from the city, Howard & I drove out to that location on the levee and were able to view the bird much closer. The receding lake has created sand bars at this location, where I have recently seen a nice variety of gulls and shorebirds. Adult bird. Larger than nearby California Gulls. Yellowish eyes. White head, breast and belly. Very dark back and wings. Large yellow bill with red spot near tip of lower mandible. Pink legs and feet. Photos: . . .
