0833: flying E or NE.
Подробности наблюдения
At 0652 I first heard brief "tic tic tic" calls from E of reach 4. They seemed to be coming from the same area, apparently on the ground in the old sewage pond area, when I heard them again at 0655 and 0657. At 0700 I saw a WISN (likely the same individual) in low flight, making "tic" calls, dropping down steeply (apparently from the NW) and landing in the sewage pond area. Seen on final approach only. At 0705, while rain was a steady drizzle, I heard a saw a snipe (same bird?) doing its winnowing display high over reach 4. At 0832, while in reach 3, I saw a WISN fly downstream, more or less along the stream course, relatively high, then it veered N before reaching the diversion and continued into the moderate distance. I could not hear any calls, though there was enough stream noise that it might have been. I wondered if it had flushed from the constructed wetland in reach 2. First noted equipment carrying dirt to a pile from the wetland around 0900, supporting the idea that the snipe might have flushed around the time work was beginning or workers were arriving. Ca 1415, I again heard "chip chip" calls from a WISN several times in the vicinity of the old sewage ponds.
